Ruth Ready, 87, entered into eternal life Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Ready was born September 10, 1923 in Randolph, Texas the daughter of John and Mary Morris McCord. Ruth was educated in Randolph Schools and moved to Denison, Texas in 1942 to pursue a career with Kraft Foods.
In 1944 she married the love of her life, William Boyd Ready of Leonard, Texas. After Kraft Foods she also worked for Kress', Newsom’s, and later retired from Texas Instruments after 20 years of service in 1989. Ruth enjoyed shopping, crocheting and especially sewing. She was a great seamstress and friends and family often benefited from these skills. Ruth was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mrs. Ready is survived by her daughter, Barbara Davis of Denison, Texas; granddaughter, Kay Walker of Bridgeport, Texas; 2 great-grandchildren, Drew Davis of Denison, Texas and Raynee Walker of Bridgeport, Texas; nieces, Thelma Burnett; Rhonda Johnston and husband, Bill; nephews, Wayne Mac Ready and wife, Linda; 5 great-nieces, Gail, Nancy, Shannon, and Jami and great-nephew, Brandon.
Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William “Boyd” Ready; parents, John and Mary McCord; 2 brothers, Eugene McCord and Orval McCord; and nephew, Larry Wayne McCord.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning, June 11, 2011 at Fisher Funeral Home with Pastor James Garland officiating. Interment followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.  Pallbearers were Wade Graves, Gary Hale, Robert Massey, Wayne Ready and Bill Johnston. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 West Main In Denison.
