Denison - Eileen May Ruff, 78, of Denison died Friday, May 3, 2013 at her home.  Funeral services were held Friday morning at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Denison with the Very Rev. Don Perschall officiating.  A private burial was held at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.  Cremation was under the direction of Dalton and Scott Funeral Home in Lewisville.
Honorary pallbearers were Craig Gocke, Daniel Bushman, Cory Thornton, Matthew Bushman. Michael Bushman, and Clarke Richards.
Eileen was born in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England, daughter of Ethel M. and William B. Chambers.  She attended boarding school in Stroud, Gloucestershire, England.  Eileen Chambers and John Ruff met in England where John was stationed in the U.S. Air force.  They married on April 19, 1954 in Cirencester, Gloucestershire, England and recently celebrated 59 years of marriage.  While raising 4 daughters, the Air Force took them to Minnesota, North Dakota (where she became a U.S. citizen), Germany, back to England, Wisconsin and finally to Texas.
She worked for Levi's and Nabisco in Denison and was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Denison.  She belonged to the Yellow Rose of Texas Paint Club and British Wives Club.
Eileen's hobbies included painting, knitting and reading. She loved music, fossil hunting, the sea and the sun, and a good cup of tea.  She truly enjoyed sharing all these and more with her children and especially her grandchildren.  Eileen and John also enjoyed traveling to see family and friends across the U.S. and abroad.
She is survived by her husband of Denison; daughters, Debbie Gocke and husband, Craig, of Sugar Land, Texas; Sheryl Thornton of Texas; Shawna Ruff of Spring, Texas; Robin Bushman and husband, Daniel, of North Potomac, Maryland; grandchildren, Angela Thornton of Texas; Kelsey Gocke of Pearland, Texas; Cory Thornton of Texas; Allison Gocke Richards and husband, Clarke, of Edmond, Oklahoma; Matthew Bushman of Baltimore, Maryland; Michael Bushman of North Potomac, Maryland; sister, Enid Vesci and husband, Casper, of Fairfield, California; brother, David Chamber and wife, Gladys, of Cirencester, England; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother and stepfather, Ethel M. and Henryk Zacharewicz; father, William B. Chambers; brothers, Robert and Frank; and sisters, Maureen and Diane.
She will be remembered for her smile, wit, and strong love of family.  Eileen was proudest of her 4 daughters, and 6 grandchildren. She never met a stranger and leaves behind many, many friends.
Donations may be made in Eileen's name to St. Luke's Columbarium Fund or M.D. Anderson Hospital.
