Virgie May Rambin
1 December 1913 - 7 September 2008


Mrs. Rambin was born December 1, 1913, in Robeline, Louisiana to the late Obediah and Mittie (Dyson) Johnson. She passed away 7 September 7, 2008, at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center, Sherman, Texas.

She earned her teaching certificate from Northwest University in Louisiana and taught many years as a teacher.
On August 7, 1940, she married Andrew Rambin in Durant, Oklahoma. They moved to Sherman in 1946 and Virgie and worked as a substitute teacher for several years.
She was a long time member of North Park Baptist Church and a devoted homemaker who enjoyed cooking.
She was survived by her husband of 68 years, Andy Sr. of Sherman; one son, Andrew Rambin Jr and his wife Ruth of Benton, Louisiana; one daughter Marsha Rogers of Arlington, Texas; two grandchildren, Christy Rambin of Benton, Louisiana, and Evan Hensley of Arlington, Texas; one great-grandson Taylor Ann Hensley of Arlington; two sisters, Cleo Johnson of Leesville, Louisiana and Pauline Murray and her husband Joe of Shreveport, Louisiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to North Park Baptist Church, 2605 Rex Cruse, Sherman, Texas.
Funeral arrangements under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home, Sherman.



Andy was born December 1, 1916, in Powhatan, Louisiana to the late Elmo and Annie Ethel (Levy) Rambin. He passed away  April 9, 2014, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital – WNJ, Sherman, Texas.
He was a World War II Army veteran and retired from the Frisco Railroad with 39 years of service.
Andy was an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Parish, Sherman.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Virgie; his brother, James O. Rambin and his sister, Ruth Rambin Thompson.
Andy is survived by one son, Andrew O. Rambin Jr. and wife Ruth of Benton, Louisiana and one daughter, Marsha Rogers of Arlington, Texas, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  
Funeral Services were held at Waldo Funeral chapel, Reverend Jeremy Myers, Pastor St. Mary’s officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Mary's Catholic Parish, 727 South Travis, Sherman, Texas 75090.
