DENISON - Charles "Bud" Ray Rushing, 85, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Homestead of Sherman.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 11, 2010 at Southside Baptist Church, 1131 South Scullin, Denison
with Rev. Keith Taylor officiating. Burial followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman. Pallbearers were Virgil McNutt, Chuck Neal, Arnold Ramey, Bubba Stevens, Phil Shaffer, David Belcher, Bruce Lamance and Rusty Denny. Honorary pallbearers were members of Lone Star Masonic Lodge #403 and Billie Mosse Masonic Lodge #1152.

Bud was born on April 18, 1925 in Denison, the son of Alvie and Ethel (Robbins) Rushing. Bud served his country during World War II in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946.
Bud retired as a truck driver from Pillsbury. He was an avid sports fan, both in participation and watching sports. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Denison as well as a member of Southside Baptist Church in Denison.
Bud will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his son, Stan (wife Rae) Rushing of Spring; daughter, Cynthia (husband Curtis) Jolly of Sherman; four grandchildren, Cristi (husband Josh) Littrell of McKinney, Jennifer Jolly of The Colony, Steven Bagwell and Kim Bagwell both of Spring; three great-grandchildren, Abby and Emily Littrell of McKinney and Madison Bagwell of Spring; brothers, Souverne (wife Audrey) Rushing of Santa Fe, Ronald (wife Janice) Rushing of Haltom City and Jerry Rushing of Midlothian; sister, Neva (husband Fred) Herzog of Santa Fe.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents and a brother J.W. Rushing.

Arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard Street, Denison, Texas 75020.
