Sherman - L.D. Quassa, Jr., age 80, went home to be with the Lord Sunday , November 14, 2010 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ in Sherman.
Mr. Quassa was born February 26, 1930 in Denison, son of L.D. and Edna Jewel Baird Quassa, Sr.  He married the love of his life, Dorothy Smith on September 2, 1950.  He retired from the MKT Railroad with over 25 years of service.  L.D. loved to go to any type of auction or estate sale.  L.D. was a member of NARVRE, Masonic Lodge of Bells # 798 and the Savoy First Baptist Church. He was a loving dad, grandfather, brother and friend.  L.D. WIll be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Quassa is survived by his family: daughter, Nelda Edwards and husband, Mike, of Howe; daughter, Bonnie Nabors and husband, Roy, of Crandall; grandchildren: Chris and Sharon Edwards of Saginaw; Mindy and Scott Loveton of Arlington; Carolyn and John Cherry of Howe; 3 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 5 step-great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Smith of Savoy and Betty Welch of Hendrix, Oklahoma, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and his Masonic brothers.
Celebration of Life Service was held Thursday afternoon, November 18, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Savoy.  A private interment was held later at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. A rrangements were under t he direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison.
