Howe - Funeral services for Evelyn May Powell were held Thursday morning, June 17, 2021 in the Chapel of Memories at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.  Rev. Lonnie Adams and Rev. Terry Johnson officiated.  Mrs. Powell passed to her heavenly home on June 13, 2021 in Randolph, Texas.
Evelyn was born on November 12, 1933 in Wagner, Oklahoma, daughter of W.A. and Elzora Ragan Henson.  On  June 11, 1953 she and Lillard Powell were married in Durant, Oklahoma. After 24 years of military service, Lillard retired from the U.S. Army and they moved to Howe, Texas.  They both worked at Texas Instruments, retiring after 20 years of service.  Evelyn was a member of the First Assembly of God in Sherman, Texas.
Mrs. Powell is survived by one son, Albert "Larry" Powell of Sherman; 2 grandchildren, Elizabeth Rehn and her husband, Micah, of Baltimore, Maryland; and John Powell and wife, Sandy, of Sherman; 9 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine Melton of Randolph, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years; parents; in-laws, Fred and Mary Powell; sister, Margie Fay Silveria; daughters-in-law, Karen Cornelison Powell and Vick Shaw Powell.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County. - - - Waldo Funeral Home
