Patricia Kathleen Pennell was born in Ft. Worth on November 6, 1932, daughter of Robert Patrick Adkins and Mildred Kathleen Moreland Adkins. She graduated from Shawnee High School in 1950 and followed her calling by enrolling at St. Anthony's School of Nursing where she excelled and graduated in 1953 with a 3 year degree and a diploma in nursing.  The Lord blessed Patricia with a huge heart, a skilled and open mind, and the strength to work many long hours attending to the sick and those in need.  With a passion for critical care nursing, Pat worked 40 years in the medical field and was respected by physicians, nurses, and her patients.  Patricia also took care of those outside the hospital.  If ever a person was without a home, money, or food, she made her house their home. She never turned anyone away. She touched many and will be missed by many.
On February 18, 1954, Patricia married Richard B. Pennell of Sherman. They would have 4 children, Denise, Kim, Bo, and Cissy. Richard and Pat were married over 40 years when he passed away in 1994.  Always a loving mother and grandmother, Patricia loved her 3 grandchildren, Josh, Ashley, and Collin, upon each of whom she put "her touch."
Mrs. Pennell was a member of the Friendship United Methodist Church for many years until her failing health prevented her from attending.  Blessed by God with amazing strength, Pat battled many health issues.  She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley and Jon Bon Jovi when she wasn't watching Nancy Grace.
Mrs. Pennell is survived by 3 daughters: Denise Lee and her husband, C.B., of Sherman; Kim Copeland of Sherman; and Cissy Pennell and her partner, Eudora Emory, of Pottsboro; one son, Bo Pennell and wife, Jodi, of Denton; one brother, Don Adkins of Norman, Oklahoma; one sister, Mary Klassen, of Louisville, Colorado; and 3 grandchildren, Josh Cowley of Denton; Ashley Pearson of Sherman' and Collin Pennell of Whitesboro.
She was preceded in death by parents; husband; and one sister, Carolyn Sepmoree.

The family would like to express their thankfulness to Advantex Home Health, American Hospice, nurse Denise Boren, the Homestead of Denison, and her "little angel", Alex.
