Ralph R. Pinkston was born in the Ida community, son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude E. Pinkston.  He attended Denison schools.  He married Frances Short on March 16, 1942 in Durant, Oklahoma.  He retired after 20 years of service with the U.S. Air Force, serving in World War II.  Later he was a machinist with United Airlines.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Mrs. Janet Fisher of Denison; Donna Tackett of Checotah, Oklahoma; brothers, Harold Pinkston of Whitesboro, Claude Pinkston of Amarillo; sisters, Murkey Lehr and Betty Sue Sakowski, both of Sherman; Billie Jean Jones of Tom Bean; Mary Jo Rhodes of Irving; and 2 granddaughters.
