Sherman - Services for Beatrice Nellie Beck Pinion, 97, were held Thursday afternoon, September 17, 2009 in the Waldo Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Albert Fisher, pastor of Key Memorial United Methodist Church, conducted the service.  Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
She passed away September 15, 2009 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center in Sherman.
Beatrice was born December 25, 1911 in Valdesta, daughter of Joseph Cleve Beck and Grace Oretha Walden Beck; she married Marvin Monroe Pinion on January 14, 1927 in Pilot Point, Texas.  They were married 61 years at the time of his death.  She was a longtime member of Key Memorial United Methodist Church.
Beatrice was primarily a homemaker and helped her husband with their farm.  She enjoyed sewing and quilting until failing eyesight prevented her from following her beloved hobbies.  She was happiest when family and friends were gathered in her kitchen for meals she had prepared.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Marion Monroe Pinion; infant grandson, Marion Dale Pinion; sisters, Cleo Taylor, Mozell Smith, Gladys Newman; and brothers, Travis Beck, Theodore Beck, and J.W. Beck.
She is survived by son, Bobby L. Pinion and wife, Marge, of Sherman; daughter-in-law, Margie Pinion of Oklahoma City; grandchildren and spouses: Debbie and Tommy Tomlinson of Yukon, Oklahoma; Mark and Dena Pinion of Bethany, Oklahoma; Kimberly and Rick Scrivner of Tuttle, Oklahoma; Karen and Tommy Cantrell of Bluffdale; and Donna and Sam Wilson, Jr. of Flower Mound; sister-in-law, Phyllis Beck of McKinney; 10 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial gifts may be made to Key Memorial United Methodist Church, Sherman, Texas or Home Hospice of Grayson County, Sherman, Texas.
