Denison - Services for JoAnn Perkins were held Thursday morning, July 18, 2013 at Faith Church in Sherman, Texas.  Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.  Officiating was Michael G. Braxton, Senior Pastor of Bethel Community Baptist Church in Denison.  She was eulogized by Superintendent Michael O. Clerkley, Sr., Pastor of Lighthouse Church of God in Christ, Dallas.
JoAnn passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.  Jo Ann was born October 30, 1942 in Memphis, Texas.  She was retired from AT&T where she worked in Operator Services.  She was a devoted member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Denixon and past President of NAACP of Grayson County.
She is survived by her daughters, Angela Perkins of Denison; and Joyce Beamon of Dallas; son, Steven Beamon of Allen; sisters, Melva Mask of Denison; Joyce Perkins and Margorie Perkins, both of Dallas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bernice Perkins; and sister, Betty Perkins.
Services were under the professional direction of Scoggins Funeral Home and James E. Smith Funeral Director in Howe.
