DENISON - Bessie L. Perkins, 82-year-old Denison resident, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at her home. Services were held at Friday afternoon, December 4. 2009 in the Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Dr. Chet Haney officiating. 

Mrs. Perkins was born on October 4, 1927 in Kaufman, Texas, daughter of William Leroy and Mary Leon Biardgess Gentry and attended Leonard schools. She married Coy Davis on October 28, 1950 in Grayson County, and he preceded her in death on January 28, 1981. She married "Bud" Perkins on September 2, 1982 in Denison. He died September 30, 2009. 
Bessie was a member of Parkside Baptist Church. She worked for many years at Carl's Restaurant and then opened her own restaurant known as Dam Site Cafe. She was the most proud of her service in the Grandparent's Program at Golden Rule Elementary School in Denison. 
Surviving are her sons, Dwight Davis; Gary and Sherry Davis; Johnny and Darlene Davis; Coy Douglas Davis; and James Denny; stepsons, Buddy and Olivia Perkins; Danny and Rhonda Perkins; daughter, Linda and Jerry Crawley; stepdaughters, Linda and Harvey Kimsey; and Janis and Chuck Willis; 34 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren.
