Funeral services for Doris M. Parish were held Monday morning, September 13, 2010 at Wood Street Church of Christ. Bill Mayes of the church officiated. Pallbearers were Justin Murphy, Chad Murphy, Ricky Crouch and Glenn Crouch.  Mrs. Parish passed away Friday, September 10, 2010 at the Homestead of Sherman. Waldo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Doris was born July 28, 1923 in Blue Ridge, Texas, daughter of Jim and Ethel Goodman Crouch. She attended and graduated from Leonard High School. On May 18, 1942 she married James Homer Parish in Shreveport, Louisiana; he preceded her in death on June 9, 1990. Doris worked at the JC Penney Beauty Salon and at K-Mart for 12 years. She was a member of the Wood Street Church of Christ.
Doris is survived by her sons, Jerry D. Parish and wife, Winona, of Sachse; and Tony C. Parish and wife, Laura, of Sherman; daughter Connie Sue Murphy and husband, Mark, of Sherman; brothers Avaughn Crouch of Plano and Dr. Leon Crouch of Lubbock; grandchildren Lynda Norfleet of Sachse; Karyn Paris of Greenville; Chad Murphy of Lubbock; Justin Murphy of Sherman; and Charity Baxler of Allen; 3 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son James Homer Parish Jr.; and daughter Barbara Baxler.
