GUNSHOT VICTIM FOUND AT DENISON RESIDENCE
Paul Edward Pilkilton, 27, of 1027 W. Chestnut, was found dead at his home Sunday night with a .44 Magnum Ruger pistol nearby.
A friend, Ellen Michele Payne, told police she stopped at the house shortly before 11 p.m. and entered the front door, finding Pilkilton on the couch.  When she called his name and got no reply, she said she went to Pilkilton's parents' home where she alerted his mother.
Pilkilton's mother called an ambulance, as Ms. Payne and Pilkilton's brother went to the victim's residence.  Police said Pilkilton was found with the pistol beside his head and a single wound in  his chest.  Judge Charles Odle pronounced Pilkilton dead at 11:30 p.m.
No signs of fo ul play were found.

Denison - Funeral for Paul Edward Pilkilton, 27, of 1027 W. Chestnut, who died Sunday at his home, were held Tuesday morning at Bratcher Funeral Chapel.  Rev. Dale Gore officiated.  Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Pilkilton was born January 6, 1958 at Denison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pilkilton.  He was a 1976 graduate of Denison High School and received his BA degree in 1980 from Austin College.  He was vice president of Fred Pilkilton Motor Co. and a member of Denison Jaycees and First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his parents; his grandmother, Bertha Perry of Durant; 2 brothers, Fred, Jr. and Roger, both of Denison.
Pallbearers were Randy Harmon, Don Coley, Ben Paddock, Dean Womack, Brian Wells and Dewayne Dyer.
