DENISON – Maxine Frieda Odom, 76, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Texoma Medical Center.

Funeral service were held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Chapel On The Hill, Cedarlawn Memorial Park, 5805 Texoma Parkway, Sherman, TX 75090, with Jerry Spradling officiating. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Maxine was born December 4, 1934 in Hawarden, Iowa, the daughter of Nicholas Wendel & Frieda N. Strauss. She was of the Lutheran faith; worked for Nabisco for 9 years; worked for Great Western Sugar Beet Factory in Goodland, Kansas for 10 years; loved her grandkids; loved working in her garden, the outdoors and her dogs and cats.
She is survived by husband Jack of Denison; sons Michael Wayne Odom & wife Debra of Wilsonville, Oregon, Steven Mark Odom & wife Patty of Ontario, California; daughters Lori Lacy & husband Jay of Pottsboro, Texas, Sharon Kay Basgall of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Vickie Lynn Suffal & husband Mark of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; brother John Wendel of Atlanta, Georgia; sister Dorothy Skagman of Hawarden, Iowa; grandchildren Matt Suffal, Trevor Suffal, Nicole Booher, Brittney Lacy, Ryan Odom, Troy Basgall; great-grandchild Brooklyn Suffal.
Arrangements were entrusted to Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard Street, Denison, TX 75020 (903) 465-2323.

POTTSBORO - Jackie Wayne Odom, age 85, of Pottsboro, Texas, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Beacon Hill Nursing Home, Denison, Texas. Mr. Odom was born on August 16, 1929 in Waukomis, Oklahoma, to Gilbert and Ada Odom. He married Maxine Wendel, who preceded him in death in 2011. He was an engineer for the Katy Railroad. He was an avid gardener, liked to fish, hunt and camp. He enjoyed repairing his own cars and was a general handyman. His grandchildren were the love of his life. He was a Christian and of the Methodist faith. He was a WWII veteran.
He is survived by his children, Mike Odom & Deborah of Wilsonville, Oregon, Sharon Basgall & Chuck of Verona, Pennsylvania, Vickie Suffal & Mark of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Steve Odom & Patty of Corona, California, Lori Lacy & Jay of Pottsboro, Texas. He had six grandchildren, Ryan, Matt, Trevor, Nicole, Brittney, Jarett, two great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Makynlee, two brothers, Dale Odom of Forman, Arkansas and Lee Odom of Ruthvan, Iowa, many other relatives and a host of friends.
Preceding him in death was his wife, parents, and a sister, Bev Anderson.
Funeral service were Friday at 11 a.m. at American Funeral Service Chapel, Denison, Texas with Jerry Huggins officiating. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Cemetery, Sherman, Texas. Pallbearers were Jay Lacy, Matt Suffal, Trevor Suffal, Steve Odom, Mike Odom. Mark Suffal.
Arrangements were under the direction of American Funeral Service, Denison.
