SHERMAN - Graveside services for Clyde Ray Owen were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Owen passed away Saturday, November 1 at the Bonham VA Hospital at age 88. Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.

Clyde was born on June 19, 1920 in Ely to the late Paul Lindsey Owen and Mamie (Pickens) Owen. He graduated from Whitewright schools, the Dallas Business College, and served in the U.S. Army from December 1943 until March 1946. He and Frances Work were married on May 19, 1946 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and were married over 58 years when she passed away
in September 2004. Clyde was employed as an office manager and accountant with several mining companies in the southwest and later moved to Sherman where he managed the Goodyear Tire store until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. organization and was a longtime member of Grayson Bible Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

Mr. Owen is survived by one daughter, Wanda McCoy of Gallatin, Tennessee; one son, Paul Owen and wife Davina of Van Alstyne; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Pauline Davis and her husband N.H. of Bonham; and brother, Troy Owen and wife Oleta of Sherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son, Gary Owen; and one son-in-law, Charles McCoy.
