Established 1948   Elva M. Ownby 1896 - 1984 Roy K. Ownby 1895 - 1957  Funeral for Elva Hendrick Ownby, 88, of 1730 S. Fannin, who died Tuesday at her home after a sudden illness, were held Thursday afternoon at Trinity Methodist Church with Rev. Johnnie Haney and Rev. A.D. Campbell officiating. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Bratcher Funerall Home. Mrs. Ownby, a Denison resident most of her life, was born May 23, 1896 in Sadler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Hendrick. She married Roy K. Ownby December 16, 1916 in Denison, and he died August 23, 1957. Mrs. Ownby was a member of Trinity Methodist Church, Eastern Star Lodge #872, Social Order of Beauceants, South Ridge Garden Club of Dallas, and Denison Garden Club. Surviving are 2 sons, J.W. and Roy, both of Kansas City, Missouri; 2 daughters, Eloise Krattiger of Durant, Oklahoma and Mae McMennamy of Ft. Worth; sister, Oleta Worden of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Ray Chapman, William Hale, Kenneth Ball, Ernest Ball, Marvin Ball and Jimmy Ball.
