On Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Texoma Medical Center, Mr. Willie James Oliphant, Sr. was called from a life of labor to an eternal life of reward.
Willie was born February 4, 1937 in Wrens, Georgia to the parentage of Lee and Mary Oliphant.  He received his education from the Wrens and Jefferson County, Georgia public schools.
Shortly after graduating from high school, Willie enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1956.  Willie proudly served his country for over 23 years before retiring as Tech Sergeant June 30, 1979.
After retiring the Oliphant family moved to Sherman, Texas where he then was employed at Kaiser Aluminum and LOF as a supervisor.
Willie became a member of Progressive Missionary Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years.
He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Beulah M. Oliphant, of Sherman; sons, Marvin Huff of Wrens, Georgia; and Willie J. Oliphant, Jr. of McKinney; daughters, Norma J. Oliphant-White of Sherman; and Donna M. Oliphant of Dallas; 9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings, Alex Oliphant and Ada Dorcelus, both of Augusta, Georgia; and other relatives and friends. - - - Cravens Funeral Home
