Established 1948

Mrs. Margaret Wilma Parrish Nabors, 98, of Denison, Texas went to be with her Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.  She was born June 8, 1921 in Gordonville, Texas.  Wilma married the love of her life, Albert Nabors, in a double ceremony with her sister, Bernice and husband Lyndol Irby, in their mother's flower garden on May 1, 1943.  Wilma and Albert were married 76 years and they both said they never had a serious argument.  They were sweethearts at a very young age and they found their greatest joy just being together.  Wilma and Albert were members of the Merry Mobile Methodists of North Texas and the Degree of Honor Lodge where they both served.
Wilma graduated from Whitesboro High School, attended North Texas Business College, and worked as a secretary at Shipp Motor Co. in Sherman for several years.  In addition to being a homemaker and mother, she enjoyed volunteering at her daughter's school activities and serving at Waples Memorial United Church, a place always close to her heart.  She was well known for her amazing baking skills and for the way she made everyone she encountered feel special.  She was an avid gardener, an incredibly strong faithful servant, and she loved deeply.
Wilma is survived by her husband; daughter, Sandy Barnes and husband, Harry; son-in-law, Bobby Storie; grandchildren, Brian and Shelle Pitman; Kristin and Mike Dolliff; Dustin and Candi Matthews; Leslie and Timn Brennan; Lisa Barnes; great-grandchildren, Kelsee; Reid & Trevor Pitman; Troy Greenamyre; Nathan and Sarah Dolliff; Kelsey & Ashleigh Steinwender; Dakota Burnett; Erin & Mary Kate Brennan; and Camden Barnes.
Wilma is preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Jessie Gene Parrish; Hoyt Neal Parrish; Billy Parrish; and Bernice Parrish Irby; and daughter, Debra Jo Storie.
A celebration of her life was held Friday morning,  November 1, 2019 at Waples Memorial United Methodist Church in Denison, Texas.  Her burial was a private family service under the direction of Bratcher Funeral Home at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts to Waples United Methodist or the charity of your choice. - - - Bratcher Funeral Home
