Edward Howard "Chickie Moe" Nelson (Jones), age 65, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, December 26, 2009 at Texoma Medical Center. 
Mr. Nelson was born June 28, 1944 in Denison, Texas the son of Charles and Maudie (Hall) Nelson. He served his country proudly as a Green Beret in the U. S. Army during Vietnam where he was awarded the Purple Heart. Edward was also very involved in A.A. where he was a great inspiration to all. He was a very personable man who loved music. Edward enjoyed being with family and friends. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church but was attending Bethel Community Baptist Church. Edward will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. 
Mr. Nelson is survived by his father, Charles Nelson of Denison, Texas; daughter, Cynthia Nelson-Wiggins of Las Vegas, Nevada; and son, Terriel Strickland of Nevada; 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Jones; beloved mother; and son, Edward "Eddie Cat" Nelson II; and aunt and uncle, Van and Betty Withrow. 

Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Bethel Community Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Braxton officiating. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman with Military Honors.  
Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 West Main in Denison.  - - - - - Fisher Funeral Home
