Darren Christopher Nix of Irving, Texas, son of Michael and Debbie Nix of Bedford and Mary Sue and Gary Wells of Irving, and brother of Zak Nix of Irving, joined his grandparents, other family members and friends in Heaven on November 8, 2003.  Step-siblings include Staci Hight of Lewivsille; Erin Morgan of Irving; Linda Morff of Bedford; and Michael Wells of Irving.  Darren is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family of friends.
Darren was born in Austin on October 2, 1967 and graduated Nimitz High School Irving in 1986.  He served in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years and was a Desert Storm veteran.  Darren participated in several ministries, including youth ministry at the S. Congress Baptist Church and the "Under the Bridge" Ministry for the homeless in Austin; the Juvenile Prison Ministry in Brownwood and Central Texas; the Senior Citizen Ministry in Waco, where he also served as a Youth Minister at a Baptist Church.
He graduated from Howard Payne University with a Bachelors degree in Theology; attended Truett Seminary at Baylor University in Waco; and most recently has also been a practicing Registered Massage Therapist in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex.
Funeral services were held at Sherwood Park Baptist Church in Irving on November 11th, where Darren had been an active member since 1982.  Interment was at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Sherman.  Pallbearers consisted of Darren's cousins and close friends.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to the Gideon Memorial Bible Fund through Sherwood Baptist Church, 2355 Pioneer Dr., Irvint, Texas 75061.
Darren had been hospitalized for 3 days, following an acute seizure incident suffered at his home.  He expired at Baylor Medical Center-Irving on Saturday, November 8, 2003.  - - - Brown's Memorial Funeral Home, Irving
