Geneva Parker Miller, age 73 of Sherman, former co-owner with her husband of Miller Pharmacy, passed away after a brief illness Monday evening, October 6, 2008 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center.

Services were Friday morning, October 10, 2008 at Woods Street Church of Christ. Bill Mayes, minister of the church, officiated and the burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
Geneva was born May 5, 1935 in Caddo Mills, Texas, daughter of Dewey B. Parker and Ellen Pauline Gray Parker. She attended McKinney schools for a brief time and after moving to Sherman in 1942 she attended Jefferson Elementary, and graduated from Sherman High School in 1953. She married Charles E. Miller on June 1, 1953 in Sherman and she joined him in Austin soon thereafter where he was attending the University of Texas. While living in Austin she was the office manager for the Texas School for the Blind. They moved back to Sherman in 1956 after Charles graduated and he began his practice of pharmacy with Triplett Prescription Service, which he and Geneva purchased in May 1964 and operated as a family independent pharmacy until retirement in June 1998.
Geneva was an excellent artist who enjoyed painting and also enjoyed reading. She loved to travel and watch football games, especially her beloved Texas Longhorns. She was a longtime member of Woods Street Church of Christ where she was active in the Ladies Bible Class and Ladies Night Out.
She is survived by her 2 sons, Charles Michael Miller and, wife, D'Ann, of Denison; and Larry Daniel “Danny” Miller and, wife Angela of Sherman; her daughter, Melinda Ann Miller Watson and husband, Joe of Whitewright; 3 grandsons, Michael Brandon Miller, Dewey Clinton “Clint” Watson, and Joe Charles “J. C.” Watson; 2 granddaughters, Molly Kathleen Watson Wood and Mindy Lou Watson; 4 great-grandchildren, Kylan Watson, Raegan Wood, Izaac Wood and Destiny Miller. She is also survived by a brother, Daniel W. Parker and his wife Janna of Sherman; a special brother-in-law, Al Williams of Arlington, Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Winkler of Sherman; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in October of 1998; and a younger sister, Joyce Parker Williams.

Pallbearers were Brandon Miller, Clint Watson, J. C. Watson, Zach Wood, Jack Pierce and Bobby Slaughter. Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandsons Kylan Watson and Izaac Wood.
The family requests memorials be made to the Charles E. and Geneva P. Miller Scholarship Fund in Pharmacy, in care of the University of Texas College of Pharmacy, #1 University Station-A1900, Austin, Texas 78712 or, to Home Hospice of Grayson County.
