Charlotte Ann Martin was born on January 5, 1943 in Sherman, Texas, daughter of Elmer and Edna Runnels.  Charlotte passed away from this life on February 22, 2020 at the age of 77 in Sherman, Texas.
She married the love of her life, James "Bud" Martin at 16 years old on February 25, 1959.  Charlotte and her husband were married 53 years until his passing in 2012.  Charlotte loved to cook for Bud and spend his money, shopping, while he was at work.  In 53 years together, they never spent a day apart.  Bud always took care of Charlotte and protected her through sickness and health.  Their love was timeless.
Charlotte was a loving mother to her 2 children, Susie and Buddy.  Her daughter Susie was her best friend.  Her son, Buddy, was always her baby boy, even as an adult.  She was the baby sister of 4 children.  Her older siblings loved her dearly and always swore she was spoiled rotten, and knew it.  Charlotte's grandchildren were her pride and joy.  She dedicated everything to them, and they were her greatest achievement.
Charlotte was strong and brave.  She was a real pistol in life.  Everyone always thought she the most beautiful woman in the room, wherever she was.  Her favorite thing to do was listen to George Jones and Tammy Wynette sing.  Country music was a way of life for Charlotte.  She also loved watching Billy Graham preach on TV.  He always made her feel even closer to the Lord and Savior.  Charlotte loved Jesus with all her heart.  She knew without a doubt she would spend eternity in Heaven when she passed away.
Charlotte had a harder journey tham most, with her health, for so much of her life.  She was always able to overcome anything that came her way.  Her strength and faith were undeniable.  Most importantly, Charlotte believed she was blessed beyond what she could have ever hoped for.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Billy Jack Runnels; and a sister, Wanda Sue Hoket.
She is survived by her children. Susie Townsend and husband, Jay; son, Buddy Martin; brother, E.C. Runnels and wife, Lois; brother-in-law, Bert Brown and wife, Alice; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Lamb and husband, Chad; Matt Townsend and wife, Emily; Bridget Harrell and husband, Colin; Brittany Orr and husband, Matt; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Charlotte were private.
