Services were held Monday morning, March 19, 2007 for Margaret Catherine Wolfe May Sprowl.  Waldo Funeral Home of Sherman was in charge of arrangements.
Margaret Catherine Wolfe was born September 22, 1914 in Van Alstyne, daughter of William and Elizabeth Wolfe.  She died on March 15, 2007 at the Heritage Oaks Retirement Village in Corsicana.  She was the oldest and the last surviving of 7 children.  She married Thomas M. May of Princeton, Texas in Durant, Oklahoma on August 19, 1933.  They began their married life in Van Alstyne where they lived for more than 25 years.  There they reared 3 children - a daughter and 2 sons - before moving to Sherman in 1959.
Catherine joined East Sherman Bapatist Church in 19 59.  There she participated in many aspects of the church's activities.  She mad friends easily and was ready to volunteer for any task.  She was well known for her cooking and assisted in preparing many meals at the church.
She held varied jobs and worked continuously until finally retiring in 1982.
Her husband, Tommy May, died June 19, 1975 in Sherman.  In 1978 she married Hoyt Sprowl of Van Alstyne.  Mr. Sprowl died on December 16, 1995.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Thomas and husband, Walter, of Barry; her son, Clifton May of Artesia, New Mexico; her son, Dewayne May of Dallas; her grandson, Tatum may and wife of Chandler, Arizona; and her great-granddaughter, Sadie Grace May of Chandler, Arizona; several nieces and nephews and many friends.
