Roy Duke Myatt, 79, of Sherman passed away peacefully and joined his loving wife on January 31, 2023. 
Roy was born April 11, 1943 in
Littlefield, Texas, son of George and Mary Myatt.  His family moved to Sherman in 1948 where he attended school and graduated from Sherman High.  He enlisted in the Air Force in 1961 and was deployed to Taiwan where he did Radio Control, translating Chinese until he was honorably discharged in 1965.   He met and married the love of his life, Gloria Sasser, in 1967 and they were happily married until her passing in 2021.
Roy retired from IBM as a Computer Technician after 37 years of service; he then worked at Target as a stocker for 10 years before completely retiring.
Roy is preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife; son, Daryl Lee Myatt; and brothers, Bobby Neal, and Richard Myatt and George Wayne Myatt.
Roy is survived by his son, Sean  Everett Myatt; stepdaughter, Nette Pinckney; grandson, Scott Norris; granddaughters, Taylor Harding and husband,  Clint; Jordan Dobbins; Destiny Myatt; Amber Myatt; brothers, Earl Myatt and wife, Helen; and Keith Myatt and wife, Donna; sisters, Lela Luxen and husband, John; and Jayne Smith and husband, Donny; 7 great-grandchildren whom he adored; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
All who knew Roy loved him for his great sens of humor, caring heart, and hard work ethic.  He will be greatly missed by all who had the opportunity to know and love him.
Funeral services were held Monday morning, February 6, 2023 at Waldo Funeral Home chapel with Rev. James Moore officiating and burial followed immediately at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
