Sam Morales entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.  Sam was born on April 1 5, 1930, son of Cecil O. Morales and Frances Alvarado Morales.
Sam grew up in Sherman, Texas.  He married the love of his life, Helen Vinson, on June 3, 1966 and enjoyed 51 years together.  He was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War at Camp Carson, Colorado for 2 years.  In his spare t ime, Sam's hobbies included working on electronics, hosting and singing Karaoke with family and friends, and teaching Spanish and English to community members.  He was an active member of West Sherman Baptist Church and a  faithful member of Church of The Divine Savior.
Sam leaves behind his son, Sammy Morales (Taco) of Sherman; sisters, Genoveva Cunningham, Frances Carolan, and Jaunita Carr; granddaughters: Brandy Johnson (Brett) of Bonaire, Georgia; Courtney Giles (Robbie) of Durant, Oklahoma; and grandson, Shawn Morales (Amber) of Durant, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren: Cambri, Bentley, Dierks, and Remi.  Sam is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Sam is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Helen Morales; his parents; brothers, Daniel Morales and Cecil Morales, Jr.; sisters, Rachel Aguilar, Phebe Quick, Helen Slaughter, and Esther  Cervantes.
Funeral services were held Saturday morning, May 1, 2021 at Waldo Funeral Chapel with Rev. Juanita Carr and David Roman officiating. Committal services followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Shawn Morales, Brett Johnson, Michael Dollar, Jr., Butchie Jr. Morales, Joseph Winkler, and Miguel Segura serving as pallbearers.

Sherman - Helen Yvonne Vinson Morales was born on Saturday, September 20, 1924 in Fannin County, Texas, daughter of Tom and Ruthie Ford Vinson.  She entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Wilson N . Jones Regional Medical Center at the age of 92.   
Mrs. Morales grew up in Trenton and was a graduate of Bonham High School.  She married Sam Morales on June 3, 1966 in Sherman and together celebrated over 50 years of marriage.   Helen was a devoted nurse in the maternity ward at WNJ Hospital, retiring in 1989 with 32 years of dedicated service.
Helen leaves behind her husband; son, Sammy Morales; granddaughters, Brandy Johnson and husband, Brett, of  Bonaire, Georgia; and Courtney Giles and husband, Robbie, of Pottsboro, Texas; and grandson, Shawn Morales of Durant, Oklahoma; 3 great-grandchildren; nephews: Tom VInson and wife, Susan of Waxahachie, Texas; and Keith Vinson and wife, Beverly, of Garland, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Kate Vinson; and brother, Noble Vinson.
Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, May 16, 2017 at Waldo Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Juanita Morales Carr officiating. Committal service followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Shawn Morales, Brett Johnson, Robbie Giles, Daniel Rangel, Lou Cervantes, and Charles Escalera serving as pallbearers.
Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home
