Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Waldo Funeral Chapel for William L. R. Mote, 82, of 721 S. Austin, retired farmer, who died at 10 p.m. Friday at his home after a short illness.
Services were conducted by Rev. Melvin James, pastor of the Calvary First Assembly of God Church, and Rev. Bill Knight, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church.  Burial was at Cedarlawn Memorial Park under the direction of the Waldo Funeral Home.
Mr. Mote was born July 28, 1886, at Sulphur Bluff, Texas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ezekial Mote.  He was married to the former Miss Emma Roach in 1914.  He had been a farmer all of his life in West Texas, retiring several years ago.  He had lived in Sherman for the past 25 years.  He was a member of the Calvary First Assembly of God Church of Sherman.
Survivors are his wife of Sherman; one son, E. P. Mote of Sherman; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Donoho and Mrs. Marvin Dodson, both of Sherman; one sister, Mrs. Alice Priest of Arkansas; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
