Denison - J.L. " Jelly" McClure, 92, died on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison.
Graveside services were held Wednesday morning, August 31, 2016 at Chapel on the Hill Mausoleum at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.  Rev. Bill Brown officiated.  Military honors were conducted by the VFW in Sherman.
J.L. was born in Denison on August 11, 1924, son of Jessie James and Alma Jane Tallant McClure.  He graduated from Denison High School in 1943.  J.L. and Anita Jordan were married on April 10, 1962 in Greenville, Texas.   She preceded in in death in 1996. 
He worked as a slitter operator for ESCOA Corporation in Pryor, Oklahoma, a route salesman for Morton Foods, was a member of Harless United Methodist Church, member of the VFW in Sherman.  He served his country in the United States Army during World War II and was assigned to the Aircorp Engineers.
Surviving him is his brother, Bill McClure and wife, Jan, of Colleyville, Texas; cousins, including, Sandy Tallant of Denison; 17-year-companion, Patricia Bergtold of Denison; and many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family suggests memorials to Harless United Methodist Church, Denison, Texas.
