Sherman - Funeral services for Charles Elbert Myers were held Thursday afternoon, November 15, 2018 at the Western Heights Church of Christ.  Richard Oglesby officiated.  Burial followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Sam Myers, Jacob Reiland, Nathan Zorrilla, David Clark, Connor Horsley and Jesse Trammell serving as pallbearers,  Mr. Myers, 93, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Texoma Healthcare.
Charles was born June 24, 1925 in Petty, Texas, son of Elbert and Agatha Law Myers.  He graduated from Sherman High School in 1942 and served in the U.S. Army from 1951 - 1953.  In May 1954 Charley and Patricia Schiflett were married and had 4 children.  In November 2013 he and Alta Hefton were married.  Mr. Myers worked in the printing business from 1945 to 2000.  In that time he worked as a printer's apprentice, type setter, pressman and owned and operated Sherman Printing from 1968 to 1987.  Charlie was an Eagle Scout and served as a Scout Master for 20 years.  He was a former member of the Travis Masonic Lodge, Civitan Club, Kiwanis Club, and Western Heights Church of Christ.
Mr. Myers is survived by his wife, Alta, of Sherman; four children, Joe Myers and wife, Hidalia, of Grand Prairie; Matt Myers and wife, Barbara, of Sherman; Ginny Reiland and husband, Mark, of Aubrey; and Ben Myers and wife, Nancy, of Forney; 9 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sister, Ann Myers and Dorothy Brown; and one brother, Richard Myers.
Memorials may be made to Western Heights Church of Christ or to the charity of the donor's choice.
