Sherman- Funeral services for Vera Mae Morgan were held Friday morning, June 24 at the Grayson Bible Baptist Church. Dr. Eddy Johnson of the church officiated and burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. Mrs. Morgan, 80, passed away Tuesday June 21 at Texoma Health Care.

Vera was born September 11, 1930 in Savoy, Texas, daughter of Clint and Mary Florence Pointer O'Daniel. Mrs. Morgan worked as a nurse's assistant at Wilson N. Jones for 19 years, retiring in 1997. Vera was a longtime member of Grayson Bible Baptist Church where she served as a nursery worker and taught the 9-11 year old girls' Sunday School Class for many years. She also served as a group leader in the adult class at the church. In retirement, Vera loved to knit and quilt, and made numerous quilts for her family and friends.
Mrs. Morgan is survived by 5 children: Harriett McCurdy of Sherman; Walter Morgan and wife, DeAnne, of Greenville; Roger Morgan and wife, Faith, of Sherman; Anita Morgan of Ft. Worth; and Ruth Ann LaLonde of Sherman; 2 sisters, Mary Louise Fannin of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Margaret Pace of Mesquite; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons, Paul Morgan in 1987, and Joe Morgan in 2001.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grayson Christian School at 4400 E. Hwy 82, Sherman, Texas 75090.
