DENISON – James Wayne Mauldin, 78, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011 at his residence in Denison.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Grissom officiating. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas.  Pallbearers were Tommy Roesler, Addison Coffman, Brian Williams, Shawn Dophied, Shane Hogenson and Jesse Scally. Honorary pallbearers were Alan Souther, Mario Moreno, Jason Roberts and Milford Hellinger.
James was born June 14, 1932 in Whitesboro, Texas, the son of James B. Mauldin & Nell Short. He married Gracie Ward on August 24, 1954 in Whitesboro, Texas. He was a member of Twin Cities Baptist Church in Sherman, where he was a deacon and taught Sunday School. He also had a nursing home ministry. He worked for Champion Cooler; retired from Reedrill after 12 years; served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War; loved to go bird hunting and loved his family and grandchildren, who called him "Papa".
James is survived by his wife Gracie of Denison; daughters Deborah Souther & husband Alan of Pottsboro; Robbin Moreno & husband Mario of Pottsboro, Marilyn Dodson of Denison; brother, Rev. Billy Mauldin & wife Jean of Ft. Worth; sister Martha Allen & husband Jim of Grand Prarie; brother-in-law Leo Massey of Ft. Worth; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and his puppy Daisy.
He was preceded in death by his parents James & Nell Mauldin; sisters Virginia Jensen, Margorie Massey; brother, Lee J. Mauldin; nephews Terry Allen, Jimmy Jensen; niece Norma Jordan.
Arrangements were entrusted to Bratcher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas.
