Established 1948    John L. Moore 1928 - 2018 LaNorda "Leigh" Moore 1933 - 2002  John L. Moore, Sr. of Denison, 89-year-old retired Air Force Senior Master Sergeant, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 in Denison. Services were hled Saturday afternoon, December 1, 2018 at the Denison Church of the Nazarene with Rev. David Pettigrew officiating. Entombment followed with full military honors at The Chapel on the Hill at Cedarlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home, Sherman. John was born on December 4, 1928 in Honey Grove, Texas, the second youngest son of Baxter and Mary Catherine Fox Moore. He attended school at Honey Grove where after graduation in 1946 he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he spent 30 years. He served in World War II, Occupation Forces in Japan, Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He retunred to Sherman in September 1972. He married LaNorda Powell on June 27, 1961. John is survived by his 2 daughters, Roberta Freeze and fiance, Jimmy Boyd, of Justin, Texas, and Kim Phillips and husband, Jimmy, of Denison; 6 grandchildren, Joe Freeze and wife, Karen, of Joshua, Texas; Robin Schuchman and husband, Chris, of Roanoke, Texas; Jarod Odum and wife, Trace, of Huntsville, Alabama; Jesse Odum and wife, Sarah, of Howe, Texas; Joshua Odom and Destiny Patterson of Allen, Texas; and John L. Moore, III of Garland, Texas; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, LaVada Lockhart of Houston, Texas; and sister-in-law, Peggy Moore, of Mesquite, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his wife; son, John L.
