Lou Gehrig Lovett, Jr.

Lou, 51, was born May 12, 1957, son of Lou G. Lovett, Sr. and Mildred Ann Miller Lovett.  He attended school in South Carolina and after graduation from high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served 3 years.  He became employed by Skaggs Alpha Beta, which later became known as Albertson's Supermarker, in Ft.Worth and eventually transferred to the Sherman Albertson's.  While employed at the Sherman Albertson's he met and married Lori Baio on April 30, 1984 in Sherman.  In 1997 Lou went to work for the Tree of Life, Inc., a distributorship of gourmet and specialty foods, in Rowlett, Texas and later transferred to the Houston office.  Lou was a very happy person who could make other people laugh just being around him.  He loved to fish, hunt and play poker.  One of his biggest thrills was parasailing while on a cruise at Cozumel, Mexico.
Lou passed away February 9, 2009 at Porter, Montgomery County, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Lori Lovett, of Houston; 4 daughters, 30-year-old Melinda Beth Blocker and husband, William Andrew, of Elgin, South Carolina; 24-year-old Lisa Marie Lovett; 22-year-old Kristi Ann Lovett, and 19-year-old Britni Nicole Lovett, all of Houston; grandson, Drew Blocker of Elgin, South Carolina; brother, Roger Lovett of Ft. Worth; sister, Crystal Lovett of North Carolina; brothers-in-law, Tony Baio and wife, Shawna, of Denison; and Steven Baio and wife, Kelly, of Sherman; sisters-in-law, Allison McTee and husband, David, of Sherman; and Sharon Williams and husband, Scott, of North Carolina; mother-in-law, Lillie Baio, of Sherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents.  

An honor guard from Ft. Hood Army Base conducted military graveside honors.  
Pallbearers were Tony Baio, Steven Baio, David McTee, Roger Lovett, Mitchaletty Baio, Bryan Lovett, and William Blocker.
