Established 1948    Emma Ruth Johnson 1 October 1934 - 6 November 2007 Ray Johnson 14 September 1928 - 27 January 2012 Sergeant US Air Force Emma Ruth Ramey Johnson, 73, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 6, 2007 at Texoma Medical Center.
Mrs. Johnson was born October 1, 1934 in Sawyer, Oklahoma, daughter of Leonard and Angie Brown Ramey. Ruth married Ray Johnson on July 16, 1955 in Achille, Oklahoma. Ruth was a caring and generous person. She loved her family and always put them first. She took great pride in being a wonderful homemaker. Mrs. Johnson is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Ray Johnson of Denison; daughter, Valencia Najfus and husband, Phil of Sherman; sisters, Melba Cannaday and husband, Max of Denison; and Etta Lou Redd of Orlando, Florida; brother, Arthur Ramey of Denison; sisters-in-law, Pam Ramey of Denison and Diane Ramey of Denison; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her precious son, Guy Mack Johnson; parents; brothers, Doug, Buddy, Dean, Don and Melvin (twin brother of sister, Melba; and sister, Evelyn Hornback. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, November 10, 2007 in Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Daniels officiating. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas.  Ray Johnson, 83, entered into eternal life Friday, January 27, 2012 at Homestead of Sherman after a long illness.
Mr. Johnson was born September 14, 1928 in London, Kentucky, son of Guy Mack and Georgie Mae Poff Johnson. He met and married the love of his life, Emma Ruth Ramey, while stationed at Perrin Air Force Base on July 16, 1955 in Achille, Oklahoma with whom he proudly raised one daughter and shared his life as husband, provider, and caregiver. Ray loved the outdoors, especially fishing. He was a loving husband, father and friend. Mr. Johnson is survived by his beloved daughter, Valencia Ann Johnson Najfus and husband, Philip of Sherman; sister, Inez Howe and husband, Richard of Bonnieville, Kentucky; sister, Jackie Johnson of Louisville, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Eugenia Johnson of Bonnieville, Kentucky; and honorary daughter, Joye Johnson Rogers and husband, David, of Louisville, Kentucky; aunt, Carley Whisman and husband, Lynn of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and a host of loving nieces and nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Johnson; young son, Guy Mack Johnson; parents; brothers, Rush Johnson and Guy Mack Johnson, Jr.; and nephew, Joseph Russell "Rusty" Johsnon. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning, January 31, 2012 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Pastor Michael Daniels officiating. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Military Honors. Pallbearers were Billy Cannaday, David Ramey, Jon Wile, Gary Johnson, Thad Johnson and Mark Johnson. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison, Texas.
