Sherman - Funeral services for Alyne Berniece Jones were held Thursday morning, August 22, 2013 at Waldo Funeral Home.  Rev. Roy Webster of Grayson Bible Baptist Church officiated.  Burial followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman with John Paul Jones, Billy Jones, Kenny Jones, and Steve Jones serving as pallbearers.  Mrs. Jones, 83, passed away Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center.
Alyne was born June 17, 1930 in Sanger, Texas, daughter of Cecil and Flake Hensley Thompson.  She married Harold Jones in October 1951 in Sherman.  Alyne was a devoted homemaker, military wife, and mother throughout her marriage.  In 1969 they moved to Sherman and soon after, Mrs. Jones went to work at Texas Instruments.  She worked for TI for 20 years before retiring.  During retirement, Alyne enjoyed doing arts and crafts, crocheting and knitting.  She was also a loyal volunteer to Meals on Wheels and made deliveries for more than 20 years.  Mrs. Jones was a lifelong Baptist and had taught Sunday School for 26 years.  She was currently a member of the Grayson Bible Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jones is survived by 2 sons, Kenny Jones and wife, Judy, of Sherman; and Steve Jones and Sue Morton of North Richland Hills; one daughter, Debbie Lollar and Richard of Sherman; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; one brother, Louis Thompson of Ardmore, Oklahoma; 2 sisters, Charlotte Dories Cotten and husband, John, of Sunnyvale, Texas; and Edith Miller and husband, Richard, of Redland, California; numerous nieces and nephews and special friend, James Trammel of Sherman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Myron Jones; and brother, Tommy Thompson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels, 1500 N. Broughton, Sherman, Texas 75090. 



Harold Dean Jones of Sherman, 77 year-old retired Texas Instruments employee, passed away Wednesday morning, July 1, 2009 at Mullican Care Center in Bells, Texas. 
Services were 2 PM Friday, July 3, 2009 in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Roy Duff, Baptist minister of Pottsobo, officiated and the burial followed in the Veterans Field of Honor at Cedarlawn Memorial Park. An honor guard from Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls  conducted full military graveside honors. 
Harold Dean was born June 4, 1932 in Kersey, Oklahoma, the son of Wesley T. Jones and Lilamae Powers Jones. He completed his high school requirements while in the military and later earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Grayson County College and then received his Bachelor's degree in business from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant. He married Alyne Berniece Thompson on October 20, 1951 in Sherman, Texas.
Harold Dean enlisted in the U.S. Air Force when he was fifteen years old with his mother's help and had a career of almost twenty-one years. During his career he served during the Korean War and was stationed in the Phillipines and Seoul, Korea. Following his honorable discharge in October of 1968, he began a career with Texas Instruments of twenty-two years, employed first as a security guard and after receiving his Bachelor's degree he transitioned into computers. Following his retirement from Texas Instruments he served as reserve Grayson County deputy sheriff for six years under Sheriff Driscoll. He also drove cars for Team Bonner and the Honda dealership in McKinney until 2003. 
He enjoyed shooting pool, riding motorcycles, and generally was a Mr. Fix-it, attempting to fix most anything around the house. He was a member of Forrest Avenue Baptist Church for sixteen years where he served as a Deacon. He also was a member of the Sherman American Legion. 
Survivors include his wife, Alyne B. Jones of Sherman; sons, Kenny Jones and his wife Judy of Sherman and Stephen Jones of Ft. Worth; daughter, Debbra Lollar and her husband Richard of Miami, Oklahoma; brother, Al Jones of Pasadena, Texas; sister, Betty Hassler of McKinney; five grandchildren, John Paul Jones, Billy Jones, Robert Lollar, Abbey Lollar and David Lollar; and seven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Myron Jones, brothers, Clinton Jones and Carroll Jones, and a sister, Juanita Miller. 
Pallbearers were the honor guard from Sheppard Air Force Base.
