DENISON - Funeral for Mrs. LaVerne Isbell, 72, 818 West Munson, who died Friday in a local hospital were Monday, 11 a.m. at Bratcher Chapel. Rev. Leslie Thompson and Rev. Sid Maples conducted the service. Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Isbell was born in Madisonville November 24, 1908, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Zorus White. She married W.L. Isbell September 28, 1934 in Greenville and was a member of Parkside Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge.
Survivors are her husband; one son, Melton Maggard, Denison; one stepson, James Robert, Denison; one brother, Elbert White, Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. LaFaye David, Dallas, and Mrs. Arvaroma Jones, California; seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

DENISON - Services for James Robert Isbell, 53-year-old Denison journeyman carpenter who died Wednesday at the Dallas Veterans Administration Hospital, were held at 1 p.m. Friday at Bratcher Funeral Chapel. Robert Howard of Morton Street Church Christ officiated and burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
Mr. Isbell was born in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Isbell, attended Amarillo schools, and married Edith Paris on June 24, 1953 in Wolfe City.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean conflict and had lived in Denison for the past 29 years. He was a member of the Morton Street Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife; sons, John Isbell and Ben Isbell, both of Denison; daughter, Mrs. Diane Maxon of Midwest City, Oklahoma; father and stepmother, W.L. Isbell and Alice Isbell of Denison; stepbrother, Melton Maggard of Denison; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jerry Paris, Robert Woodruff Jr., Sidney Harper, Barry Paris, Joe Price and Larry Paris.
