Denison - Sandra Kay Hamner, 46, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, September 5, 2010, surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Hamner was born July 2, 1964 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, daughter of Jack and Mary Cross Carter.  Sandra married the love of her life, Darrell Hamner, on July 30, 1982.  She was a secretary in the family business, Carter's Inc.where she worked for 29 years.  Sandra was always full of life and energy and would do anything to help someone, even a stranger.  Sandra served on the PTO board at Layne Elementary for years along with volunteering in numerous activities of her 3 children.  She enjoyed attending Bible Study where she acquired many great friendships.  Sandra had a way with making her family and friends feel special by always putting others before herself.  She was a strong, positive woman with a smile that would light up any room.  Sandra had a passion for animals; she raised dogs for over 10 years.  She was admired for her strength and courage.  She was a kind, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend.
Mrs. Hamner is survived by her beloved family: husband; sons, Bradley and Dylan Hamner; daughter, Jami and husband, Brandon Berkey, all of Denison; parents of Denison; sister, Sharon and husband, Terry Braziel, of Denison; in-laws, Gaylen and Clara Hamner of Sherman; sister-in-law, Debbie, and husband, Charles Rowland, of Oklahoma City; 4 nephews; 3 nieces; and 3 great-nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, September 8, 2010 at Park Avenue Church of Christ with Gerald Daniels officiating.  Interment followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas.  Pallbearers were Aaron Dusek, Ryan Dusek, Dustin Rowland, Josh Schnitker, Kim Watson, and John Carl Weger.  Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
