1926 - 2022

Juanita Louise Hardy, nee Stanbery, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 3, 2022 at an assisted living facility in Ft. Worth.  She was born in Gainesville, Texas on September 1, 1926, daughter of Charles M. Stanbery and Nellie O. Harlow.  Charles worked for the railroad in Gainesville and shortly after her birth, the family moved back to Denison, where she was on the cradle roll at Calvary Baptist Church.  Juanita attended Peabody grade school until the 8th grade and graduated from Denison High School in 1942.  After that, she attended Austin College in Sherman, Texas.
In 1946 she met a handsome Army Captain, Herbert Henry Hardy and they married on May 25, 1946 at Calvary Baptist Church, where they were lifelong members.   Herbert was a Sunday School Superintendent, and Juanita served as GA (Girls' Auxiliary) counselor.  Juanita also loved singing in the choir.
She worked in Denison at the cable com office for over 20 years and became friends with everyone who came in to pay their bill.  She loved crafting and quilting.  She enjoyed being part of a craft group of friends that met weekly for many years.  She made many quilts, including one for each of her 7 grandchildren and many for her great-grandchildren.  She and Herb kept a vegetable garden and they had a beautiful yard with many flower beds. 
Juanite was predeceased by her parents; brother, Charles M. Stanbery, Jr. and wife, Mary; and a sister in infancy, Dorothy Mae Stanbery.
She is survived by her 2 daughters and their spouses: Karen Hardy Jorgensen and husband, Mark, of Bedford, Texas; and Sharon Hardy Easter and husband Hal, of Ft. Worth, Texas; 7 grandchindren: Aaron M. Jorgensen and wife, Melissa Abernathy; Marina L. Jorgensen; Alayne M. Jorgensen Mealey and husband, Michael; Dru Hardy Jorgensen and wife, Lauren Hinajosa;  Harlow G. Jorgensen and wife, Samantha Maner; Michelle Easter Webster and husband, Grant; and Nicole Easter Walling and husband, Blaine; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Her memorial service was held  Monday afternoon, March 7, 2022 at Calvary Baptist Church with her interment being next to Herbert at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas. - - - Fisher Funeral Home
