Hazel LaVern Hess, 77, of Denison, Texas, went to be with our Lord Friday, December 24, 2021 at Wilson N. Jones, Sherman, Texas.
Mrs. Hess was born August 3, 1944 in McAlester, Oklahoma, daughter of Troy and Leona Holbert.  She was a 1962 graduateof Denison High School.  LaVern married Taylor Dean Hess on December 5, 1964 and they were happily married for 57 years. They had 3 children: Jeffrey, Misti, and Jason. She was a very dedicated "Memaw" to her 4 grandchildren, whom she kept until they attended school.  She then spent time taking part in her grandkids' activities or cheering them on at all their sporting events. LaVern loved the Lord and was an active member of the Denison Church of the Nazarene for over 40 years.
LaVern was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Billy Wayne Holbert; brother-in-law, Charles Hess; and sisters-in-law, Earlene Hess and Wanell Dobbs.
LaVern leaves behind her husband of 57 years; children, Jeffrey Hess of New Orleans, Louisiana; Misti and spo use, Clint Mackay, of Denison; Jason and spouse, Lauren Hess, of Denison; grandchildren: Aaron Hess,  Cooper and Carli Mackay; and Jaxson Hess; and expecting in March a bundle of joy, Mack Hess; many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, December 29, 2021 at Fisher Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.  Pallbearers were Darren Hicks, Brian Hicks, Glenn Hess, Darel Dobbs, Mike Styles, and Randy Styl es.
