DENISON - Inez Hallford, 94, went peacefully home Monday, Dec. 14, 2009.

Mrs. Hallford was a lifetime resident of Grayson County having been born and raised on a small farm west of Dorchester. Since 1942 she had been a resident of Denison. She was baptized by Bro. Roy Graves at a revival in Savoy in the '30s. Her first date with our dad, Louie Sr. was at that revival where they were baptized. Much of her life she was a stay-at-home mom. After her children finished school, she went to work for Madonna Hospital and was employed there until it closed. She always loved dogs. Her lifelong favorite pet was her collie, Pal, from 1950 to 1960s.
Inez was still raising kids up to her last days and was very quick to let us know, we didn't know what we were talking about "when we disagreed with her." That's what kept her alive for 94 good years.
She loved family reunions with all her Bateman, Daughtery, Cundiff and Shaw cousins. Thanks to her niece, Sandy and husband, Mark Weintraub for coming all the way from California to see her in her last days.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. Virgil Cornwell and Rev. Don Westbrook officiating. Private interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Hallford is survived by her loving family: sons, Kenneth Hallford and Louie "Sonny" Hallford and wife, Carolyn; grandson, Mike Hallford and his daughter, Lauren; granddaughter, Laurie Bolen and her two sons, James Paul "Jamie" and Tyler; sister, Lela Cooper from Lake Isabella, California.
Inez was preceded in death by her parents, F.C. and Mahaley (Daughtery) Shaw, husband, Louie and beloved  daughter, Barbara, brothers, Sam, Cody, Boyd, Ted, Tom and Frank Shaw and sister, Cora Shaw.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wesley Village for their outstanding care and love given to their mother.
Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 W. Main in Denison.
