SHERMAN - Maynor Dean Holt, 48-year-old Sherman resident, died Sunday, October 25, 2009 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison. 

Services were held 11 a.m. Thursday in the Carrie White Chapel at Angelic Mortuary in Sherman with Rev. Neal Spencer officiating. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. 
Surviving are his sons, Jarius Holt and Chris Taylor, both of Atlanta, Georgia; mother, Jessie Holt of Sherman; and brothers, Clarence Ray Holt of Atlanta, Georgia and Charles Ralph Holt of Denver, Colorado.



Jessie M. Holt went to her final resting place in Heaven on October 11, 2021.  Mrs. Holt was born in Pilot Grove, Texas, daughter of Ralph and Lela Owens on May 9, 1931.
She graduated from Fred Douglas High School and later married Joe Holt of Sherman, Texas in 1951.  They were happily married for 57 years and had 3 sons during their time together.
She was a member of St. John CME Church and later joined Whiterock Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Holt retired from Johnson & Johnson after 29 years of devoted service.  After retirement she was recalled to work for a few more years.  Mrs. Holt loved her job and made many lifelong friends while there.  Mrs. Holt loved working in her yard and won many awards for Yard of the Month.
Mrs. Holt is preceded in death by her husband; sons, Clarence Ray and Maynor Dean Holt; parents; brothers, Bernard Owens, Christopher Owens and June Owens; sisters, Jean Spencer and Bettye Rist.
Surviving is her son, Charles Ralph Holt and wife, Rosalind; sisters, Roberta Evans and Lillian Bogan; grandchildren: James Kirby Nelson; Misty Holt; Jarius Holt; Raechelle McDaniel; and Chris Taylor Holt; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held Saturday afternoon, October 16, 2021 at Harmony Baptist Church, Sherman, Texas with Rev. Clifton Eaton as the Host Pastor.  Burial followed in Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas.  Arrangements were entrusted to James E. Smith and the professionals at Waldo Funeral Home, Sherman, Texas. - - - Waldo Funeral Home
