Denison - Funeral for A.J. Hanan, 59, of Des Voignes Road, Denison, who died Friday at his residence, were at 11 a.m. Monday in Waldo Funeral Chapel, with Billie T. Smith officiating.  Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Hanan was born January 23, 1929, in Vanndale, Arkansas, son of Jake and Velma Carmack Hanan.  He married Glenna Sims September 23, 1967, in Denison.  Hanan retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1966, while stationed at Perrin Air Force Base.  He received his education in Plant City, Florida, graduating in 1945, and joined the Air Force in 1946.  Hanan, a 32nd degree Mason, was a member of Lone Star Masonic Lodge in Denison, and the VFW and American Legion, both in Denison.
He was past vice president and director of the Texoma Exposition and Livestock Show and had been active in Scouting, including serving as Scoutmaster.  Hanan was a member of the Shannon Church of Christ.
Surviving are his wife of Denison; son, Jackie of Denison; two stepsons, Don Matthews Jr. of Sherman, Johnny Matthews of Mesquite; two brothers, Donnie, Jakie, both of Black Rock, Arkansas; and seven grandchildren.
