Earl was born in Seminole, Oklahoma, the son of Cloren Gallion and Beulah Jones Gallion. He passed away at Texoma Healthcare Center in Sherman, Texas.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1947 and retired as Master Sergeant in July 1969 following twenty-two years of service. He was stationed at numerous Air Force bases during his career.
Earl and his family moved to Sherman in 1969 and he was employed by the Sherman Democrat newspaper for a short time. He then took a job in maintenance at the Johnson & Johnson plant before retiring after sixteen years.
A member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, he was a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and had served as Grand Knight. He also was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, he is survived by his wife, Florence (Flo) M. Grimes Gallion; daughter, Gwen O'Bar and husband DeWayne; sons Ellis Gallion and wife Sandy; Matt Gallion and wife Sherry; Niles Gallion and wife Vickie; and Tim Gallion and wife Liz; brother, Lloyd Gallion and wife Bonnie; sisters, Bea Weatherly and husband Dale; Joann Tucker; Marge Lessiegl Sarah Keeton; and Jane Richardson. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
A rosary was recited by Rev. Jeremy Myers, pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Parish, Sherman, at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel.
Mass of the Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Rev. Jeremy Myers officiated, assisted at the altar by Rev. Antonio Aureus, Deacons John LeBlanc, Tomas Avila and Albert Miller.
Burial followed in the Veterans Field of Honor at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers were members of St. Mary's Parish - Frank Conti, Joe Engle, Joe Hood, John Markl, Rod Reichelt and Barney Sandman.



Sherman - Mass of Christian Burial for Florence "Flo" Gallion was celebrated at 10:00 am Friday September 2 at St. Anne's Catholic Church. Rev. Jeremy Myers officiated with services under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home. Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Joe Engle, Joe Hood, Scott Jasper, Al Vrla, Arnie Ruiz, and Barney Sandmann serving as pallbearers. Mrs. Gallion, 76, passed away Monday August 29 in Sherman.

Flo was born February 2, 1935 in Mounds, Oklahoma to the late David and Leona (Durbin) Grimes. They moved from California to Sherman in 1969. Mrs. Gallion was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she was active in the St. Mary's Women's Guild, the Columbian Ladies, and the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
Mrs. Gallion is survived by one daughter, Gwen O'Bar and her husband DeWayne of Denison; four sons, Ellis Gallion and wife Sandy of Kemp, Texas; Matt Gallion and wife Sherry of Van Alstyne; Niles Gallion and wife Vickie of Carrollton; and Tim Gallion and wife Liz of Allen; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Earl.

A rosary was recited at 6:30 pm Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.  Memorials may be made to Home Hospice of Grayson County at 505 W. Center Sherman, TX 75090 or St. Mary's Catholic Church at 727 S. Travis Sherman, TX 75090.
