Ed was born June 6, 1919 in Leonard, son of Samuel and Annie Goff.  The family moved to the Sherman/Howe area in 1928.  After being drafted into the Army in 1942 and receiving training at Camp Polk, Louisiana and Ft. Benning, Georgia, Ed went to Europ where his unit was sent to Normandy to spearhead for Gen. George Patton.  He served with the 2nd Armored Division, the Army of Occupation.  Ed was honorably discharged in October 1945, after earning 2 Purple Hearts.
After returning home, Ed married Wilma Ree Rike on November 29, 1947.   He worked for Safeway's Brookside Division for 32 years before retiring in 1986.
Ed was a member of Harless United Methodist Church.  He loved gardening and being outdoors, and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Alma Goff, Lois Strong, Thelma Catching, Melvin Goff and J.L. Goff.
Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Wilma; sister, Marie Cary; daughters, Shirley Roberts and husband, Norm, of Arlington; and Carolyn Vogel and husband, Gary, of Denison; grandchildren, David Vogel, of Denison; Caryn Riley and husband, Chad, of Muenster; Bradley Vogel and wife, Jennifer, of McKinney; great-grandchildren, Garrett Vogel, Brendan, Anna, Ellie, and Jack Riley; and Brooks Vogel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Pallbearers were David and Brad Vogel; Gary Rike; Norm Roberts; Chad Riley; and Gary Vogel.  Edgar Thomas Goff, 89, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2008 in Sherman, Texas.



Wilma Ree Goff, 92, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Terrace in Denison, Texas.
Wilma was born Saturday, May 17,  1924 in Farmersville, Texas, daughter of J.E. Rike and Ollie Mae  Holden.  She married Edgar T. Goff November 29, 1947 in Bonham, Texas, and he preceded her in death.  Aside from being deeply involved with her family, she enjoyed reading and cooking.
She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Vogel, and husband, Gary, of Denison; grandchildren, David Vogel and wife, Holly, of Sherman; Caryn Riley and husband, Chad, of Arlington; and Bradley Vogel and wife, Jennifer, of McKinney; great-grandchildren, Abby Blanton, Brendan Riley, Garrett Vogel, Emily Blanton, Anna Riley, Ellie Riley, Jack Riley, Brooks Vogel, Braden Vogel, Henley Vogel, Hannah Vogel.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Shirley Roberts; brothers and sisters, Evelyn, J.E., Jr. and Raymond.
Funeral services were held Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Bratcher Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Brown officiating.  Burial followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.  Pallbearers were David Vogel, Bradley Vogel, Chad Riley, Brendan Riley, Garrett Vogel, and Gary Vogel.
