POTTSBORO - Daniel Farley, 74, passed away Monday, March 8, 2010 at Texoma Specialty Care.

Mr. Farley was born July 29, 1935 in Pilot Point, son of Clifford and Bertha Farley. Daniel married Edith Cowdrey May 5, 1961 in Denison. He served his country proudly in the Marines. Then he worked as a draftsman for Reedrill and later was a switchman for the Katy Railroad for 26 years. Daniel enjoyed bird watching, fishing and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved the Lord, his family, church family and watching Christian television. He had a big heart and would help anyone who needed it. His dry sense of humor will surely be missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Farley is survived by his loving family: wife of 48 years, Edith Farley of Pottsboro; children, Rhonda Whitmore and husband Tim of Pottsboro; Danny Farley and wife Susan of Denison; Judith Chapman of Denison; and Jim Farley and wife Hayley of Greenville; grandchildren, Shawn Crawley, Krystal Crawley, Kevin Farley, Patricia Farley, Jessica Farley, Jeffrey Farley, Christina York, Amber Chapman and Jacob Farley; 13 great-grandchildren and dog, GiGi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Farley; and brother, James Edgar Farley.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church at Spur 503 in Denison with Pastor Tom Patzer officiating. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 W. Main in Denison.

Edith (Cowdrey) Farley, age 72, went to sleep August 12, 2011 at Texoma Medical Center surrounded by her beloved family.

Mrs. Farley was born January 5, 1939, in Yakima, Washington, the daughter of DeVoe and Mary (Prater) Cowdrey. She married Gene Grimes in Yakima in 1954. They had two children together, Rhonda Lynn and Danny Eugene. In 1960, Edith moved to Texas with Rhonda and Danny. There she met Daniel Farley. They were married in 1961. Dan adopted Rhonda and Danny. The couple had two more children, Judith Ann and James De.
Mrs. Farley was an LVN for more than 40 years and worked at Wilson N. Jones, several nursing homes in the area and Texoma Medical Center. She loved being a caregiver, not only as a career, but as a way of life. Whenever anyone needed help, she was there. She had dedicated one of her spare bedrooms as a pantry and furnished food to many. Her grandchildren lovingly referred to the room as “Nannie-Mart”. Edith and Dan opened up their home to almost every child and grandchild at some point. If you needed help, Nannie and Granddad were there to do whatever they could.

Edith laid Dan to rest in March of 2010. She missed him deeply, but filled her time by serving the Lord, taking care of her family and spending time with her dear sister, Linda. How she loved her days with her sis…lunching and shopping. They would spend hours looking for those bargains! She also loved to volunteer at the church school, listening to the children read to her. This was one of the highlights of her week. She was looking forward to the new school year, along with beginning to volunteer at TMC with her dear friend and neighbor, Carolyn Bronaugh.
Mrs. Farley loved her Lord more than anything. She spent hours each day talking with him and reading his Word. She was of the Adventist faith and was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Denison, Texas. She was a very special lady and was loved by all who knew her. She always had a bright smile and warm hug for everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Edith is survived by her beloved family - children, daughter, Rhonda Whitmore of Pottsboro and husband, Timothy; son, Danny Farley of Denison and wife Susan; daughter, Judith Chapman of Denison; and son, James Farley of Greenville and wife Hayley; grandchildren, Shawn Crawley, Krystal Crawley, Patricia Duff, Kevin Farley, Jessica Biggers, Jeffrey Farley, Christina York, Amber Dennis, and Jacob Farley; and great-grandchildren, Chance, Shawn Jr., Krista, Terek, Drake, Kai, Rylee, Jakob, Christian, Ethan , Amiya, NaTaliyah, and Jocelyn; sister, Linda Lewis of Bonham, Texas; and brother, Grady Cowdrey and wife, Patricia of Jones, Oklahoma; and several nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Daniel Farley; parents; sister, Wyndolene Cowdrey; granddaughter, Kelly Lynn Farley; and nephew, Devoe Cowdrey.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church at Spur 503 in Denison with Pastor Tom Patzer officiating. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman.
