Denison - Funeral for Grant "Bear" Franks, 70, who died Friday in a Sherman hospital, were held Monday aftenoon in Southside Baptist church with Rev. Keith Taylor officiating.  Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial park under the direction of Johnson-Moore Funeral Home.
Born June 2, 1918, in Wapanucka, Oklahoma, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cleve Franks, he married Elizabeth King February. 12, 1938, in Denison.  He was a retired truck driver for Oklahoma Vegetable Oil, a member of the American Legion and Southside Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp in World War II.  He lived in Denison 43 years.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons, Charles L. of Sherman and Harlan L. of Denison; 4 daughters, Patsy S. Ferguson, Gloria Cook, Kathy Watson and Kim Johnson, all of Denison; 3 brothers, Woodrow, Bob and Bill, all of Sherman; 4 sisters, Kathryn Laughlin of Denison; Mozelle Stanley of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Imogene Thompson of Sherman; and Audrey Luscomb of New Boston; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bill Dick, Rusty Dick, Louis Doris, Van Carruth, Bobby Lashley, Kurt Helm, Fredy Anderson and C.A. Bankston.
