May "Cricket" Eldredge, 98, went to be with the Lord Sunday night, February 10, 2012 at her home.
Graveside services were held Saturday morning, February 16, 2012 at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman, Texas with Rev. Mark Roach of Belmont Batist Church officiating.
Millie May Eldredge, known to her friends as May "Cricket" Eldredge, the third child of Homer Byron Coats and Cordelia Frances Huse Coats, was born Tuesday, October 27, 1914 in Ada, Oklahoma.  Her father was a farmer and he gave her the nickname "Cricket."  While she was still a young girl, the family moved to Texas.  In 1932 she married Lloyd Sutherland.  After his death she married Floyd Eldredge and she became an X-ray technician.  She first worked for Dr. Weisberg, then for many years the M-K-T Hospital.  She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church.  In 1976 May was very proud to be installed as Worthy Matron of Gate City Chapter 77, Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of Frances Cooke Van Zandt Chapter of the Daughter of the Republic of Texas, Ft. Worth, Texas.  May had many hobbies: reading, sewing, knitting, working in the yard, and in later years playing golf.  She was a wonderful artist and loved oil painting and porcelain painting.  She also was a fabulous cook and made the best lemon cake; it was something everyone looked forward to eating at every family event.
May is survived by brother, H.B. Coats of Sherman; daughters, Peggy Davis and husbnad, Jack, of Ft. Worth; and Lola Miller of Denison; grandchildren, Janet and Kelly Ball; and Kathy and Terry Martin, all of North Richland Hills; Keith and Rhonda Davis, of Acworth, Georgia; Carol Basore of Cibolo, Texas; LeAnne and John Andrichak of San Antonio, Texas Martin "Sonny" and Marla Worthington of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Cynthia "Cindy" Kennedy of Muskogee, Oklahoma; Mary and Paul Mauney of Ft.
