Funeral services for Mrs. E.W. Easterly, 61, were held Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock at Bratcher Chapel with Hulen Jackson, Church of Christ minister of Dallas and former Denisonian, officiating.  Burial was in Cedarlawn Memorial Park with Emit R. Hunt, W.C. Bishop, Walter Perkins, Leslie Strom, E.A. Hale, and Pascal Easterly as pallbearers.
Mrs. Easterly died at Madonna Hospital Saturday night, February 9 after a lengthy illness.  She was born January 5, 1896 in Liberty, living as a child in Hill and Bosque counties.  She received her schooling in Bosque County.  She was married there in 1915 to Paul Scott.  They lived in Breckenridge for a while where she managed a hotel, and he was a fire captain.  They later lived in Dallas where they engaged in the grocery business and both were later employed by Kraft Foods and came to Denison.  Scott died in 1943.  Mrs. Scott married E.W. Easterly in November 1947.  The Easterly home is at 131 W. Murray.  She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Aside from her husband, she is survived by one son, Charles Scott, 1125 W. Hull; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Hazel, Gainesville; three brothers, Edgar Holt, Dallas; Walter Holt, Ft. Worth; and Otis Holt, Kansas City; a sister, Mrs. J.S. Waldrop, Lubbock; three grandchildren; two stepsons, M/Sgt. D.P. Easterly, Tacoma, Washington and Claud Easterly, Denison.
