Established 1948    Billy Joe Easter 13 July 1931 - 26 November 2013 SFC US Army Korea  Billy J. Easter, 82, passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Clyde Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Scholl officiating. Sons and grandsons served as pallbearers. Burial was at Cedarlawn Memorial Park in Sherman. Billy was born Monday, July 13, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri, son of Joseph Allen Easter and Ethel Duncan Easter. He joined the Army at age 15, was a drill sergeant at Ft. Leonardwood, served 2 tours in Korea, also served in France and Germany. He retired in January 1968, returned to Houston and worked for the Texas Department of Agriculture. In 1979 he came to Denison and worked as a code enforcement officer for the city of Denison. On February 14, 1980, he married Katherine Cundiff of Denison. He was a member of the Pottsboro Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Katherine, of Denison; sons, Randy Allen Easter and wife, Glenda, of Houston; Danny Dean Easter and wife, Karen, of Austin; Douglas Gray and wife, Kristi, of Denison; daughters, Rhonda Jo Heckman and husband, Ray, of Austin; Debra Darlene Davis and husband, Johnny, of Houston; Starla Leadon Heaton and husband, Mike, of Corinth; Kathy Armstrong and husband, Terry, of Denison; sister, Leadon Nowak of Houston; 21 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He is preceded by his parents; first wife, Doris Dean Easter; set of twin girls; aunt and uncle Bud and Vonda Hutsler.
