Funeral services for Vernie E. Erwin, 75, were conducted Friday, August 21 at the Johnson-Moore chapel with A.P. Skaggs and F.L. Livaudnis officiating.  Interment was at Cedarlawn.  Cause of death pronounced as heart disease.  
He farmed near Pottsboro for the past 50 years, retired and moved to Denison.
Deceased was born September 26, 1883 at Oswego, Kansas, his parents being Mr. and Mrs. I.C. Erwin.  His schooling was received at Pottsboro.  He was a member of the Christian church.
He was married on September 26, 1906 to Miss Keziah Buchanan.  To this union eleven children were born, all of whom survive.
Sons are Albert, Isaac, and Tyler E., all of Dallas.
Daughters are Mrs. Fred Moore, Sr., Sherman; Mrs. Roy S. Stapleton, Mohler, Idaho; Mrs. J.W. Wilson, Lakewood, Califonria; Mrs. E.W. Helvey, Bells; Mrs. G.L. Lee, Craigmont, Idaho; Mrs. B.L. Cobb, Mrs. Pete Brewer and Mrs. Joe Crabb, all of Denison.
A sister, Mrs. H.E. McCord, along with 21 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, survive.
