Lorelle Dodson, age 88, died Thursday, September 15, 2011 in Denison, Texas.
Services were held at Key Memorial United Methodist Church of Sherman, Texas on Monday morning, September 19, 2011 with Rev. Albert Fisher officiating. Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Dodson was born September 24, 1922 in Van Alstyne, Texas to Roger and Candace Grider Olds. On March 8, 1947 she married Ray Dodson and they moved to Sherman. They spent many happy years together in Sherman before they moved to Wesley Village in Denison. Lorelle was a longtime member of Key Memorial United Methodist Church. She was an avid golfer and an avid bowler.
Pallbearers were Andy Anderson, Jack Bumpus, L.D. Gudgel, Alberto Lupercio, Darrell Nichols, John Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were Lee Alexander, Don Blakey, W.A. "Dub" Chumbley, Earl Davis, Henry White, John Williams.

Surviving family members are husband, Ray Dodson; sons: Michael Dodson and wife, Linda, of Delta, Colorado; Keith Dodson of Carrollton, Texas; brother, Dudley Olds and wife, Christine, of Denison; sister, Irene Means of Sherman.



Harold Ray Dodson, 90, lifelong resident of Grayson County, passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Wesley Village of Denison, Texas.
Mr. Dodson was born October 12, 1926 in Whitewright, Texas, son of Laura Ellen Burk Dodson and Jess Ray Dodson.  He graduated from Tom Bean High School
He proudly served his country and joined the U.S. Navy on his 17th birthday in 1944 and served until 1946.  He served in the Aviations Ordnance division of the Navy.  On March 18, 1947 he married Mary Lorelle Olds at the Key Memorial Methodist Church Parsonage in Sherman, Texas.
He retired after 39 years with Quaker Oats Co. and Continental Grain Co. in Sherman.   Mr. Dodson was also a flight instructor and crop duster. He was a member of the Toast Master organization and was an excellent story teller. He was also a member of Friendship United Methodist Church of Sherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and daughter-in-law, Debra Dodson.
Surviving are his sons, Keith Dodson of Carrolton, Texas; and Michael Dodson and wife, Linda, of Colorado; 6 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
A Celebration of Life was held Thursday afternoon, November 17, 2016 at Friendship United Methodist Church in Sherman, Texas, officiated by Rev. Roy Sporer, retired Methodist minister.  Interment followed at Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas.
The family request donations be made in his memory to Friendship Methodist Church, Sherman; Grand Central Station, Sherman; or Wesley Village Retirement Center, Denison, Texas.
